Well, that’s a crock
for your kitchen utensils.
Hi friends! If you collect cookbooks in addition to vintage tableware, I highly recommend checking out this epic list of every cookbook these 30+ cookbook authors love.
I’m fully aware that a clear countertop is the best countertop, but I also tend to think that one more utensil crock will solve all of my problems. This week, I’m leaning into organic-feeling forms and rustic ceramics.
I love when they tell you they’re meant for spoons.
Today you’ll find more of the utensil holders I have my eye on, plus:
Spoons (elaborately) designed for spring and summer berries
Chrome serving trays
Pitchers with personality
Remember: always add your favorites to a watchlist—you’ll frequently get offered a discount by the seller.
You’ll find the whole list below. But remember, you can unlock each list of vintage finds early by becoming a paid supporter of this newsletter.
Berry season is here
At $249, this Dutch sterling berry spoon is likely beyond all of our budgets, but I offer it here as inspiration—how amazing would a spoon like this look on your table as you set out the fixings for berry shortcakes this summer?

You’ll find many more of these around at a much friendlier price point. (Similar here and here.) I also like pierced ones like this.
A statement tray for snacks

This midcentury modern “atomic” stand has four separate areas for snacks—could be a good time if you loaded it up with seafood. Or different kinds of potato chips! ($23 on eBay)
If you prefer a more traditional stacked tier, this chrome number could be it for you. ($25 on Ebay)
Can I offer you a drink?
Is this 1960s pitcher too pretty to actually pour from? I say buy one as a gift and tell the recipient to go for it. Life’s too short to stand on ceremony. ($89 on eBay)
This green one sports similar style, for $66.
With its long stretched neck, this orangey-red pitcher borders on absurd in a way that speaks to me. ($57 on eBay)
For something a bit more understated, I like this Winfield Pottery of Pasadena pitcher in turquoise. ($55 on eBay)
Crocks aplenty

I feel myself yearning for warmth in kitchens, rather than the chill of uniform white marble. The earth tones of this sturdy stoneware utensil holder feel just right. ($40 on eBay)

The typography on this speckled pottery spoon holder just makes me smile. ($20 on Etsy)

Nothing’s stopping you from using a pretty little jadeite pitcher as a spoon-holder, either. ($46 on Etsy). Or a salt-glazed beer stein!

Clean countertops are overrated!
Oh my gosh! I just shrieked. My (Dutch) godmother gave me a nearly identical version of that berry spoon as a wedding gift! I've never seen another like it. This made my day!
